The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Relations) is led by Professor Frank Larkins who has overall responsibility for the strategic and policy direction of the university's international engagement and activities.
International engagement is integral to the university retaining its position as one of the finest universities in the world. While a culture of international excellence is important in all university activities, the DVC Global Relations provides the strategic framework for Melbourne to strengthen its international contribution. This strategic framework is set out in the International Plan.
The DVC (Global Relations) is supported by the International Committee , the key policy and advisory body to Council and university management on coordination of international activities across the University. Operational support is provided by Melbourne International, which reports through the Director, Mr Tony Crooks, to the Provost. The different units that make up Melbourne International are shown in the organisational chart of the Office of the Provost
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Relations) meets regularly with the Associate Deans International to discuss international issues of relevance to faculties and graduate schools.

The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Relations) is located on level 7 of the Raymond Priestley Building.
